Location History
The sunflower pool of Bècheville is one of the many achievements of a vast national plan launched between the 1970s and the early 1980s, and called the 1000 swimming pools.
The goal of this program was to make accessible the swimming to all French people. These swimming pools had also a moderate cost for municipalities thanks to standardized equipment. Several types of swimming pool were designed, but it was the type Sunflower (by architect Bernard Schoeller), which had the most success with 183 models built.
