Location History
In the early 1930s, the fear of microbes and the desire to fight against insalubrity led the public authorities to build establishments where the oxygenation and the sunshine of the classes were calculated scientifically to preserve the health of the children.
The name of the school refers to Emile Roux, who developed the treatment for diphtheria, and Albert Calmette, who created the vaccine against tuberculosis. The two men died in 1933, just a few days before the inauguration of the school. The latter was bombed in May 1944, rebuilt and expanded in 1948.
