Classified as a historic monument since 1924. From the fifteenth century, the region of Locronan specialized in the production and marketing of sailcloth and equiped the largest ships in Europe. Around the factory settled artisans, merchants, small bourgeoisie and gentry, as evidenced by the rich homes of the church square.
