It is in the context of the Matignon Accords, at the request of Jean-Marie TJIBAOU, it was agreed between the partners (STATE - FLNKS - SERP) to establish the Agency for the development of Kanak culture (ADCK) , a public institution of State, which had the initial missions: to enhance the archaeological and linguistic heritage Kanak; to promote contemporary forms of expression of the Kanak culture, especially in craft areas, audiovisual and artistic; promoting cultural exchanges, particularly in the South Pacific; and define and conduct research programs.
