Location History
Very important German submarine base during the Second World War; Keroman, with three bunkers is the largest military complex in the Third Reich outside of German territory. The base played a leading role in the Battle of the Atlantic, due to its strategic position. After the liberation of the city on 10 May 1945, the base was used by the Navy from 1946 to 1997.
