Location History
A military site from the 12th century onward, the Sédaiges castle was in the middle of the Franco - English conflicts that raged in medieval Auvergne.Rebuilt as a fortress in the 15th century and extensively decorated in the 18th, this impressive chateau is also a unique example of the Troubadour architecture of the 19th century. The same family has always lived there, enabling it to maintain an outstanding level of interior decoration.Visitors can relive scenes of XIXth century every day life in its superb private rooms : against a dazzling backdrop of wooden panelling and tapestries listed as national treasures, the period costumes and figures, antique games and ceremonial china, bring back all the charm of a time gone by.
