General presentation

The Riviera Palace was built in Beausoleil on behalf of the Compagnie des Wagons-Lits by architect Georges Chedanne. It is presented in an eclectic Italianate style of the Belle Epoque with ocher facades and blue majolica balustrades. Its winter garden is still famous with its canopy, rock gardens and subtropical plants. The canopy was designed and built by Gustave Eiffel's company.
A cogwheel railway originally connected the hotel to the Casino.
The hotel served as an auxiliary military hospital during the First World War.
The hotel has been converted into condominium apartments.
