Glacéo is the Louviers ice rink, which consists of two sliding areas, one dedicated to clubs and championships, the Olympic track of 1600 m2 and 657 seats. The other rink of 400 m2, more fun, linked to the Olympic rink by a sliding corridor, is intended for the public and for learning. The rink accepts wheelchairs.
On the ground floor are the two ice areas, the reception, the public and sports changing rooms and the social area. On the first floor are the cafeteria, the access to the stands and the administration. The technical rooms are spread over the two levels. Once inside the building, the public is welcomed in a generous double-height hall. It consists of a staircase leading to the first floor and a lift. On reaching the first floor, as an extension of the hall, the public is welcomed in a beautiful space that serves the bleachers.
It is a very aesthetic building. It was designed as an object building with its very pure appearance and the noble materials chosen: raw concrete, wood, white mineral cladding and glass. The mineral side responds to the surrounding vegetation. The glass walls on the north side of the building reflect the landscape. It has been imagined as an origami which reveals its folding technique.
