Location History
The Museum was created in 1960 in one of the Butte's oldest buildings, constructed in the 17th century: the Maison du Bel Air. Surrounded by gardens, it was the creative home of artists such as Auguste Renoir, Émile Bernard, Raoul Dufy, Charles Camoin, Suzanne Valadon and Maurice Utrillo. The main house, known as Maison de Rosimond, named after a famous actor from Molière's troupe who owned it, has retained the picturesque aspect of 17th-century countryside residences.
Renovations were carried out in 2011.
