For the last ten years or so, the association les Bernards l'Hermite and Compagnie Le K have been working to create a living and creative project in Normandy from their adventures as a troupe and their various venues.
Their project is cross-disciplinary, artistic and social.
Since 2021, it has revolved around a former 19th-century spinning mill in the Noireau valley in the Orne department. The site has been named Le Moulin de l'Hydre.
The core of the project is to bring a derelict site back to life with the magic, craftsmanship and human adventure of a theatre.
From spring to autumn, Le Moulin de l'Hydre welcomes companies from the performing arts and elsewhere, providing them with well-equipped rehearsal and writing rooms as well as accommodation nestling between the river and the forest.
