The Foix castle has been existing since 937.The round tower is built at the beginning of XVth century, it becomes the chief town of the County of FOIX (1034) and plays a determining part in the medieval military history.At the XIVth century Gaston Febus and Henri de Navarre (Henri IV, king of France) came many times in this place.At the XVIth century the Foix castle became a civil and politic prison. Today it is an historic museum of the country.
