Location History
Originally, it was a small desert isle of 5,5 hectare given to the bishop of Paris by Charles le Chauve (the king). It was formerly named Ile Notre Dame.
The island remained a simple field of grazing ground until the XVIIe century when the architect Louis Le Vau arranged it in an elegant residential district.
In 1726, the isle change is name for Ile Saint Louis.
