Location History
The abbey was abandoned during the revolution. In 1791, a part of the monastery was sold off as state property and used for farming, while another part served as a parish church. A registered landmark since 1854, the abbey was bought by the town of Sylvanès in 1970. It's now an International Center of Cultural and Musical Events managed by the Association des Amis de l'Abbaye de Sylvanès (friends of Sylvanès abbey).
