Location History
980: Heribert, son of Hugh Capet makes appointments fortified hunting. 1453: Antoine de CHABANNE built the present castle on the foundations of the ancient fortress. 1652: La Grande Mademoiselle Anne-Marie Louise d'ORLEANS cousin of Louis XIV, condemned to exile following the events of the Fronde moved to Saint Fargeau. 1713 Louis Michel Le Peletier settled there (he voted the death of Louis XVI and died assassinated).
