The Carreau du Temple is a former 19th century covered market located in the heart of the Haut-Marais. It has become a place combining culture, sports and events.
The centerpiece is its magnificent glass hall located on the ground floor of the building. The place also has a soundproofed auditorium with 250 seats and a permanent bar.
The basement contains mainly sports equipment.

Location History
Enriched at the time of the Crusades, the order of monks combatants of Templiers made build at the end of the 12è century a monastery to which carried out the street of the Temple (1242, lengthened in 1851) and the street Old woman-of-Temple. the time of the suppression of the order in 1311, the goods of the Temple returned to Hospital, in particular the Parisian monastery. It was enriched by a tower to the thick walls, then of a palate for the great priory (1567).
