Location History
It all began in 1969 with the opening of CAP3000, the first shopping centre in France.
Over the years, CAP3000 has become an essential part of the Côte d'Azur and in almost 50 years, a real success story has been established, weaving links with its territory and beyond.
Inspired by the landscape of the Var delta, CAP3000 now unfolds its undulating facades, terraces and curved glass roofs facing the sea, transforming shopping into a new art of living, with relaxing moments and gourmet breaks.
In 2014, Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, internationally recognised as exceptional designers, responded to Altarea Cogedim's invitation to rethink the interior spaces and furniture of CAP3000. Well versed in the interior design of high-end boutiques, hotels and restaurants, this is the first time the duo has tackled a space of this size for the general public.
for the first time on a site of this size intended for the general public. Accompanying the natural light that floods the malls, Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku dress the windows with upside-down boats, whose warm colour of wood underlines the softness of the curves.
The lighting designer H. Audibert has created a light installation that welcomes clients to the Porte de Nice: organic shapes float in the space and interpret what is known as "ocean snow". These transparent, almost ethereal forms create an impressive anamorphosis and draw the CAP3000 logo.
