Location History
In 1905, the Bernheim library opens to the public. The time required for removal to Paris and then to transport by sea, and the winding Noumea New Caledonian pavilion at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, built by a Parisian architect Mr. Bley and with a metal frame designed by Gustave Eiffel. All thanks to the gift of M Bernheim.Enfin a decree of February 4, 1907 signed by the President of the Republic Fallières, formally established the Territory establishing public reading.
