Location History
Cistercian abbey founded in 1135 by Saint Bernard. The monastery undergoes the devastations of the One hundred year old war, of the religious wars at the 14th century, then of the Thirty year old war (17th) the old buildings were rebuilt with 18th. With 19th, it becomes central house for woman. Its more famous captive was Louise Michel. Today the abbey became an arts centre with many summer activities.
